Your captures stay with you.

Autapture processes screenshots and related capture information locally in your installed browser. It does not transmit this data to Autapture or any third party.

Information Autapture handles

When you choose a capture feature, Autapture can handle the selected page’s visual content, title, URL, your annotations, preferences, and capture history. It uses this information only to provide the screenshot capture, editing, library, and export features you directly invoke.

Local-only storage and no sharing

Captures and their metadata are stored in extension-scoped IndexedDB. Preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local. Autapture has no server, account, analytics, advertising, telemetry, checkout, license, subscription, sync, or sharing service. It does not sell, share, or transmit captured pixels, page content, URLs, titles, annotations, usage events, or device identifiers.

Permissions and user control

Ordinary one-page captures use Chrome’s temporary active-tab access after you invoke Autapture. When you start a batch capture of selected tabs or user-supplied URLs, Autapture requests optional access to all sites because Chromium requires it to screenshot tabs activated by that queue. This access is not requested during installation and can be removed in Autapture Settings or Chrome’s extension details page.

Retention and deletion

You can delete individual captures or clear the library at any time. Removing a capture deletes its stored image blobs and metadata. Uninstalling Autapture removes its extension-scoped data under normal Chromium behavior. Editable history can retain original pixels beneath vector annotations; use the editor’s flattened save or export workflow when a redaction must be irreversible.

Normal browser requests

Batch URL capture opens URLs you supply using the browser’s normal network connection. Those destination websites receive normal browser requests; Autapture does not proxy those requests or send page data to another service.

Changes

If Autapture is changed to add cloud storage, sync, analytics, advertising, or another external service, this policy will be updated before that change is made available.
